What Information Should I Send When Requesting a Vehicle Repair Quote?
A useful repair enquiry gives the workshop enough context to understand the problem and decide whether an inspection is needed before a quotation can be confirmed.
Supplied Atbest photography1. Vehicle details
Start with the make, model and year. If the request relates to an engine or component, include identification information where you know it.
2. Describe what you noticed
Explain the symptom in plain language: when it started, whether it is constant or intermittent and what happened immediately before it appeared. You do not need to guess the technical cause.
3. Share the location and mobility
Tell the team where the vehicle is and whether it can be driven. This can affect the most practical assessment or collection arrangement.
4. Include useful supporting information
Photos, dashboard warning images, previous reports or recent repair information can help the workshop understand the history of the issue.
5. Expect assessment where necessary
A description can start the conversation, but some faults cannot be priced accurately without inspection. The final scope, parts, cost and timing should follow the appropriate assessment.
